Prerequisite

Basic familiarity with Excel tables, formulas, and common data analysis tasks is recommended. No advanced coding or AI experience is required.

Course Outline

This two-hour workshop introduces data-focused professionals to practical ways Copilot can support analysis, documentation, and communication. Participants will explore how to use natural-language prompts to summarize data, clarify analytical findings, suggest workbook improvements, and support repeatable reporting workflows while maintaining human review and judgment.

Creating quick summaries from raw data extracts

Drafting insights and analytical narratives for stakeholders



Section 2: Drafting & Rewriting Analytical Content

Clarifying technical insights for non‑analyst audiences

Rewriting analytical findings, reports, and metric definitions

Creating executive-ready summaries from pasted data


Section 3: Excel-Based Analysis

Explain formulas and calculations 

Summarize trends from pasted tables

Suggest transformations or cleaning steps

Recommend chart types or potential insights (text suggestions)


Section 4: Allow Editing Mode for Data Analysts

Automate common data cleaning tasks for faster preparation

Generate summary views that speed up exploratory analysis
