Get a healthier grip on your workflow, learn how to delegate some of your work to other people, and take the stress out of your time management.
Course Outline
This is an interactive course. Participants will be expected to bring their time management concerns and challenges to work and develop.
Section 1: Your Time Management Overview
The participants will take a self-awareness quiz to see where in the five sub-categories of time management they need to improve, with strategies available for improvement in all areas.
Section 2: Setting Goals
During this session, participants will learn how to set SMART goals to manage their time better. You will learn the difference between reactive and proactive tasks and apply this knowledge to prioritization work and to an Urgent/Important Matrix.
Section 3: Prioritizing
This is a crucial step in the organization formula. It is not enough to have a “to do” list - it must be ranked and put into a prioritization formula.
Section 4: Planning Tips and Tricks
This session will explore how well you plan now and will introduce you to different planning tools and their uses. It also covers understanding the behaviours that can be challenged to create change.
Section 5: Communication Skills
Identify how communication skills play in collaboration with others and in clarifying assumptions.
Section 6: Delegation
You will learn tips for successful delegation, which will in turn save you time. You have a team – use them.
Section 7: Getting Back On Track
This session will discuss tips and strategies for how to recover from an interruption and return quickly to what you were doing, instead of letting it derail your entire day.
Section 8: Balance
That elusive work-life balance that is always talked about - do you have it? How do you get it? What are the rewards for lessening your work stress?
Workshop Wrap-Up
At the end of the day, students will have an opportunity to ask questions and fill out a personal action plan.
